A Tortured Heart

Oh this tortured heart how it behaves

Leading me through this treacherous maze

Where was the grace that should have saved

As I slipped and fell,

Like Alice crashing down and out of control

Into the darkness of the rabbit hole

Hate to love and love to hate

I couldn't resist and took the bait

Now stuck in an upside down world

Tangled up in the riddles that drip

From a mischievous smile

Like that of the Cheshire cat enticing me to stay a while

If only I could wake from this far fetched dream

Where nothing is and everything isn't what it seems

Toxic for me seems to be what you are

My drug of choice, my favorite poison by far

The only one who has the power to unlock the door

For which I seem to live and breathe for

The secret I've held for so long has been revealed

My silence broken

By the three little words to you I've spoken

Nothing more can I do

But let go and leave it all up to you
